This year was an odd one. I was still applying for pathology collection jobs, but I found myself a volunteer position with Puffing Billy Railway in the meantime doing admin assistance. I stayed with Puffing Billy for 3 years in total, making it my longest period of being in a workplace thus far. I also started to regain the energy to create again after a year of not doing much creative works.
Main creative achievement with Puffing Billy Railway
It wasn’t long into my position here that my creative side came out. I was tasked with creating some mini-posters to promote the volunteer recognition events we would have at Puffing Billy for an info night (which I unfortunately couldn’t attend). I drew all of these within 3 hours, so some aspects are pretty out-of-preoportion, but with such a tight deadline I had to just make do.
I admit, layout-wise, these aren’t great now that I’ve got experience from learning the fundementals of graphic design, but for a novice these are pretty decent. I was informed the next day that they got a fair amount of compliments!
Photography
These photos were purely taken by phone camera, but compositionally they’re on par with my personal standards.
Other creative endeavours
Illustrations, hand-sewing, and photo-editing were getting delved back into after the creatively-stagnant 2018. Here’s some highlights.
